Congrats on the nice note! You made good use of the squash & stretch principle, the li'l fella is plenty silly and adorable in all their stages of growth too. I'm especially impressed at the fact this is all traditional—the paper, the artwork itself, even down to the colors. Godspeed to you and your cockatiel (who, as I write this review, is in a perpetual cycle of birth, rapid growth, and ascension)!

I have to admit, this is a creepy piece of art, and I love it. My main complaint would be how, instead of a green body, he has a purple one, plus the purple veins. But I understand why it's like that. Still, I love the effort you put into it, and his face, not only is it terrifying (and I mean that in a good way), but it reminds me of a monster I'd see in a game like Rayman 2. And, boy, was that a great game.

TheNoobDude responds:

Thanks a bunch btw all of his colours are interchangeable.
I gota take a snap of my print he sits in pot out my back garden.
Heres a look at some of the color variations.

I have no words, other than I can't stop watching it. It's so... It's... I, I can't say what it is! I just, I just- NGAAAAAH!!!

This is legitimately inspiring me to recreate the museum I work at in a playable format. It's a simple yet potential rich idea. Could you imagine it being exhibited or used as a virtual tour? What if it had multiplayer as well so people can discuss art through a game recreation of a real place? Oh I could go on and on! Good show, jolly good show.

Holy heck that texturing~ I get the impression of a sleepytime storybook for children with this illustration, though here it appears DK is the one getting sleep. Must've been quite the busy day at the construction site. Junior doesn't mind that his pa' is getting the rest he needs!

Without a doubt a sharp illustration of Conker. Enjoying every detail of this piece, from the fittingly contrasting background to the selection of colors and the subtle yet notable dry paint texture, and especially the way you handle lines! Tail-- err, Conker, I mean, is neatly posed too with how he looks as if he's diving, getting ready to fly ahead at full force.

This is so, SO CUTE! I bet ya had tons I'm fun creating this, playing with textures and how the shapes and lines would work together to make a final piece worth all the stars (even the ones it already includes).

The most notable detail I'm impressed by is how many of the character's individual parts have textures in different orientations, further emphasizing that cut-out/collage feel they have.

val-is-a-mess responds:

yeah, it was fun, and thanks, I saw a tutorial for this cut-out look and I definitely had to try it out

Obsessed with gaming and imagining beyond control, I strive to make alive the many ideas within my noggin. Ambitions are bound to be exaggerated and doodles are sure to be plentiful.
